Here's the TL:DR version: Due to the extensive crossovers I plan for my various series as part of an interconnected world, I'm planning to self-publish. (Thus avoiding messy legal entanglements.) Since crossovers take planning and I don't want to do too many awkward retcons, I'm doing a "publishing freeze" and focusing instead on writing as many of these manuscripts as possible before rapid-releasing. I'm also significantly burnt out right now and need a breather. (Motherhood is amazing, but babies need attention.) What does this mean? It means you won't see my books on shelves for a while (years) and I'm going to be less active on social media while I do all the behind-the-scenes that I need to do. It also means I'm discontinuing my Plan With Me series for the moment while I restructure. I DO still have ideas for engaging at a moderate pace, so stay tuned for that information! Who's going to be the most in-the-know? The people getting my email newsletter and Patreon supporters!

Several years ago, I held a short poll on my website, asking readers to come up with a cool science fiction or fantasy book title. I would write a short story about it.
One reader came up with the title of WINGS BENEATH WATER. The title ignited my imagine and my story went through several developments (and won an award as a short story) before it reached its current form today. So, in preparation for its release on March 31st, I am sharing the cover today!  Okay, I have got to get my jitters down on a page so that I can actually get something done with the rest of my day. Drumroll please...
I just placed in the top 50 for this quarter of the Writers of the Future speculative fiction contest! This thing is, like, THE BIGGEST international contest for speculative fiction, so I imagine there are a LOT of entries per quarter. |
