Pinterest is a black hole of time for writers, but there are some perks for those who are willing to plumb its endless depths. For example, writing prompts.
I've been amassing a board on speculative fiction writing prompts for a while and now I open it up to you. Go through. Pick a prompt that you would LOVE to read as a 5-minute fiction or short story. I will write it. Sound fun? Excellent. Continue for details.
7Shared below is my Pinterest board entitled Writing Prompts. (Clever, yes?)
Browse, pick, and tell me in the comments of this post which one most interests you. If you have several favorites, don't worry. I'll give you an opportunity to pick more later. If you want, you can add things to the prompt like, "Bonus points: Make the main character a sentient mirror that is reflecting the action" or "The setting is a forest of glowing trees" or "The secondary character has to die at the end." Because you'll all have differing ideas, please UPVOTE the prompt of one other commenter. (Not your own.) You can upvote by commenting "Yes" or "This one" or "Snazzy" or whatever suits your fancy. The comment/prompt with the most comments/upvotes wins. I'll share the completed story on October 7th. For now, I'll write one short story every month. This is because I have all sorts of behind-the-scenes things happening with novels, contest entries, anthology entries, etc. Yo, I'm still writing. Just... not stuff you can see. Yet. *smirk*
What will be the October Story of the Month? You choose!
If you like something I wrote here, you are free to share/quote it with credit and a link back to the original page on my website.
